once upon a dream

Decided to complete the princess transformation from my maiden self in my last post.  This Dress the Population skirt made that dream come true.  Its light chiffon fabric in a blushing pink flowed so elegantly as I walked, even when I took baby steps. I had too much fun just strutting back and forth and making extra dramatic turns. The way the skirt glided in the air was intensely mesmerizing and so enchanting that it threw my imagination into the scene where Sleeping Beauty sings 'Once Upon a Dream' before meeting her Prince Phillip.

You know that Marilyn Monroe quote, "Give a girl the right pair of shoes, and she can conquer the world"? Well replace "pair of shoes" with "Dress the Population skirt."

dream weaver

As much as I'm obsessed with maxi dresses, I just can't wear them as much as I want to in this 90°F weather. That extra bit of cloth flowing over your legs act like an oven sometimes! Luckily a cloudy day came by so I snatched the chance at wearing a new dress given by Sugarlips. I know it's not the first thing you'll look at, but my favorite part is the way the top slinks down. I think it's reminiscent of a silk chemise or nightgown - very flattering for the décolletage.  Call me crazy - first thing that comes to mind when I wear this dress is imagining myself in the middle of a meadow as a maiden, with deer and bluejays beside me, just before somehow turning into a princess (a la Cinderella). Yes, I dream quite a bit.

DailyBuzz Style 9x9: white tee remix

As part of the DailyBuzz Style 9x9 challenge, I had to style a classic white tee. First thing that came to mind is to go bold. There's already a plain shirt in the look, so don't need another plain thing to go with it. A plain tee gives so much room to experiment with other pieces, so I immediately thought of adding a daring print or bright color. It's wonderful because they balance each other for a casual chic look. I'm wearing a soft cotton Madewell tee that I've had for years. It's so versatile and comfortable with a classic flattering v-neck. Paired it with the softest Paige denims ever (I honestly have an obsession with all things soft right now). I couldn't stop petting my legs as weird as that sounds and looks. I napped in them comfortably. And they're not bad on the eye, eh? Love this unique paisley print colored in summertime blues. It was a bit chilly towards the end of the day, so I added my trusty quilted moto jacket from Nasty Gal to give the outfit an edgy contrast for a day-to-night transition. I already have so many ideas with these paisley pants, you'll see me pairing print on print with these babies soon ;)

The Guise Archives x Honey & Silk Giveaway

Guise by Benjamin 'Marlo'
Guise by Benjamin 'Milton'

Happy Monday everyone!! And I hope I'm starting your week off right with this unbelievable giveaway from The Guise Archives! You've seen me wear my Molly (graciously gifted) from the Guise by Benjamin collection every single day with every outfit for the last three weeks. And rightfully so because they are freakin amazing. They're the perfect cat eyes with a touch of femininity, retro, sophistication, and coolness all in one. And obviously a big dash of versatility.

I was honored to have had the opportunity to meet with one of the brand's partners and have my very own tour of their eyewear shop located on the famously rad blocks of Melrose Ave (check out my super fun hang out here). It is alllll about attention to detail in The Guise Archives. It's apparent in their vintage and unique eyewear curations, their own Guise designs, and especially the store's design itself. Makes it 10x more fun and inspiring to shop in. OK so you all know that if I LOVE something, I can rave about it for paragraphs and pages. I'll really save all the words and reading and try to sum this up in one sentence: if you're looking for timeless eyewear or sunglasses that no one else has, go to The Guise Archives. Peek these glamorous vintage Celines I found there. Would you really find these anywhere else? Probably not because the people at Guise search HIGH and low for amazing vintage and rare pieces. And as you can see from their very own Benjamin Eyewear designs, Benjamin Montoya is a true eyewear artist who knows how to create understated, elegant, and timeless eyepieces. I'm literally overwhelmed right now with the perfection that's going on with Benjamin Montoya's collections and the Guise Archives that I. just. can't.

Moving on to the fun stuff, you wonderfully lucky readers get a chance to win a pair of sunglasses from the Guise by Benjamin collection (as seen above and here)!! Get excited because the lucky winner will be steezin ALL summer long with some amazing specs that no one else has ;)

summer skin

Last but never least here's my favorite summer bikini with the perfect bits of flirty frill and floral.  The floral is honestly flawless, right? Can't cover this up. It deserves all the spotlight. I was inspired by the styling at the Splendid shoot earlier this week to simply throw a button down over this gorgeous Cia.Maritima bikini as a very minimal cover up.  It adds a touch of laidback sophistication, while still being able to show off your cute suit. Plus if you're ever without a cover up, just steal your boyfriend's button down and you're good to go! It's so quick to also throw on a pair of shorts and tie the shirt with the top peeking through for a night on the beach town. Like all the swimsuits I've shared with you this past week, this one is just too cute to be hidden under a tank top or dress. Pretty printed bikinis can (and should!) be an essential part of your outfit this summer ♥

P.S. had major fun rocking this bikini at Rehab pool party in Vegas, sneak a peek here.

summer in sorrento

Hey everyone, are you tired of seeing these Mara Hoffman shorts? I hope not, because I'm practically living in them this summer. Anyhoo, Bollare sent me these amazing printed bikinis from Cia.Maritima (thank you!!), an awesome brand straight out of bikini mecca, Brazil. They're too cute to just contain them to the waters. I found that a great way to rock a cool bikini outside of the pool is to pair it with high waisted shorts, especially the beachy, boho kinds (please forgo the unbuttoned denim shorts). A high waist totally makes all the difference in its wearability and modesty.  Now there's no reason not to show off these rad prints on the boardwalk or at the BBQ. Tomorrow you'll see a different way to wear a bikini out of water, so stay tuned!

Cia.Maritima is also hosting a $500 shopping spree drawing on their Facebook page! Check out the details here. Can you imagine how many gorgeous bikinis you can walk away with??

Loving my first ever monokini with the cool fringe - simple, subtle, and sexy, just the way I like it. Check it out at AMI Clubwear (in pewter). Lo & Sons Giveaway

airport travels (wearing Quiksilver dress, Threadsence necklace)
Lo & Sons O.M.G. at work at L.A. Fashion Market
Lo & Sons O.M.G. ready to devour some Lette macarons (YUM)
Lo & Sons O.M.G. shopping on Roberston Blvd
Lo & Sons O.M.G enjoying an ice blended mocha at Coffee Bean
Lo & Sons O.M.G. taking in the sun at Laguna Beach
Lo & Sons O.M.G. unloaded at the end of the day (from L-R: Macbook Pro,  makeup kit, iPanema flip flops (c/o), Panasonic Lumix LX5, Rosebud Salve, Paul Frank Skullcandy headphones, business card holder, Orbit gum, Fresh Sugar lipgloss, Bobbi Brown mirror, keys, Guise by Benjamin Guise 'Molly' sunnies (c/o), Nivea creme tin, Louis Vuitton 'Sarah' wallet)

If you haven't checked out Lo & Sons yet, get your butt over there stat! I couldn't have had more fun with a cute pink carryall than I did with my Lo & Sons O.M.G. bag (c/o). I'm a gal who loves to hold a bunch of stuff because I have to be prepared. Most of my work days are in LA, which is a crappy long drive from the OC, so I make sure I have everything I need (especially my wallet!!) to stay comfortable and productive. When the supposedly hour long meeting is cut to only 10 minutes, BOOM got the laptop to kill the time. When there's a picture perfect moment, SNAP got the pic in high res on my Lumix. When the wind's blown all my blush off, SWIPE got my makeup kit on hand. And when my feet are on the verge of death in my heels, SWITCH got my iPanema flip flops ready to save the day. Yes the O.M.G can carry your 13" laptop and portfolio (or iPad) in padded pockets, spare shoes (even heels), and all the little necessities and still have room to stuff your sweater in. With all this stuff, you'd imagine it being heavy or hard to carry? No, with their unique patent-pending design and super durable leather straps, you barely feel the weight of it all as it rests comfortably on the side of your body with its soft nylon exterior.  And the O.M.G and their slightly bigger O.G. bag comes in the most cutest colors, one for every type of gal and occasion. You know I love brights so I had to go with the raspberry - it is so much fun to carry in person! But for the more conservative situations where you're taking the bag for interviews or corporate office days, they have lovely neutrals like espresso (my favorite), army green, and black. And you know you need those change of shoes for those interviews and work days! That's one of the top features that sold me. That and the fact that this durable, practical carryall is actually stylish!

Ok ok, I can literally go on another two paragraphs raving on about this, but you can take a look for yourself on their website and actually check out their cute videos on the bag. But as you can see, I took this baby everywhere with me, to all the stops in LA and to my relaxing days at the cafe and the beach. It's so versatile and travel-friendly. OK I'll stop. Go here to read their amazing back story about how the family brand Lo & Sons started. And check out their O.M.G. here. They are having a great 25% off promotion for the month of June on all products! And yes all their products are so awesome to fit every person's needs (done).

Alright, Lo & Sons is so amazing to me and my readers because we are going to give away one O.M.G bag to you! Don't miss out on this chance to win something that will stay with you for the rest of your life (no hype!).
