Falmouth, Cape Cod

Cape Cod or the Caribbean?

On me: LAST NIGHT dress (coming soon!). Dogeared earrings. Cleobella bag. Birkenstock sandals. Warby Parker sunglasses.
On Kyle: Everlane shirt. Gap Jeans. Azul by Moussy cardigan. Kennington shirt.

Kyle and I almost forgot to venture out from our oceanfront accommodations at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel, but who can blame us? The hotel's property covers a vast span of their own private shoreline on Old Silver Beach, with views of typically grandiose New England mansions dotting the bay on the other side. The silky white sands and gleaming blue water easily parallel that of a dreamy beach in Hawaii - the water temp was warm, inviting, and we were living just a staircase away.

When we weren't frolicking on the shore and digging our feet into the soft sand, we were exploring Main Street Falmouth and eating rustic French cheese and bread in the famous Maison Villatte bakery and perusing the farmer's market on the village green across the street. As the sun creeped towards the horizon, we capped off our Main Street visit with drinks at AƱejo Tequila Bar, a popular outdoor restaurant that was getting more crowded by the minute. By the time we settled into our hotel room for a glowing sunset in front of our patio, our appetites were raging again for a taste of American/New England fare at Sea Crest Beach Hotel's Red's restaurant. The oceanview porch provided a unique experience eating over the dark, roaring ocean as it continuously crashed through the night. We took the chance to stroll through the beach under the full moonlight in front of our building, taking in the fresh air and soothing sounds of New England.

A few locals we chatted with over margaritas affirmed the fact that nearly every resident is born-and-bred in Falmouth or near and that most have never traveled farther west than Missouri, nor do they desire to. In these humble sentiments come forth an honest, soft-spoken affection towards an intimate community Falmouth has so steadily preserved. And it's the very thing we're wandering for, away from a city so large and disparate that'll make you feel so small. The locals proudly speak their contentment with being at home, and never leaving a good thing. And we couldn't agree more.
