Divulging an urban autumn story with Blue Pearl by Allen Schwartz.
1st look: boyfriend blazer. striped dress. (coming soon!)
Autumn in New York doesn't just lie in the surreal colors of Central Park or the trees lining West Village - it exists in the way the sun casts its light from behind the clouds onto the concrete sidewalk and brick walls, the way that your morning coffee doubles as a hand-warmer, and the way that New Yorkers founded the de-layering ritual. An urban autumn is only the very best in New York City and the people here make autumn look good. Maybe it's the blushing cheeks and the dapper coats that come out to play. Maybe it's because the days are shorter and you get to revel in the twinkling lights of the city at night a couple more hours. In any way, autumn in New York is like an old friend you've missed and you've called to sit down at the next-door cafe just to lose the day in warmth and stories.
My itinerary for an experiential urban autumn included indulging in afternoon tea at The Plaza, strolling through the industrial TriBeCa only to find hidden pockets of nostalgic cafes, and taking the fur out to play in Meatpacking. I brought in Blue Pearl by Allen Schwartz as my wardrobe side-kick for the rendezvous, because their collections have always been an elegant invention for the city girl. The emphasis on outstanding details, such as the structured shoulders in the boyfriend blazer and the stitch-lined studs on the cropped leather jacket, is their unique stamp on classic and essential pieces. But Blue Pearl's signature lies in their bold and fearless faux fur prints that include two-tone (like the one I'm wearing above), leopard, camo, and more. In New York, I styled three different looks from their latest Fall and Holiday collections, but check out more of their newest styles here and see what unique classic you can add to your own closet.
