Sorry It's Freezing

Musings in a wool coat.

H&M coat. H&M dress. Charlotte Olympia heels. Flynn bag. H&M beauty selects.

A lot has changed in just the few months that I've been away from the OC. A couple of weekends ago, Kyle and I took the sunny, scenic drive down Pacific Coast Highway from Venice Beach to Irvine on probably the last real Saturday of summer. The flashing rows of palm trees, the jaunty surfboard-wielding jaywalkers, and the glimmering blue ocean that flanked the right of my peripheral reminded me of the respite I so often sought while living at home. The PCH drive is my most calming device and the familiar sights of piers and highway-lined cottages forced the pondering question why I don't do this more often.

As life moves on, so must the environment that changes and adapts. The sudden monolithic development that we passed on the PCH in Huntington Beach, as it towers the shanty Dairy Queen I used to stop in next door, was a beachhouse on steroids (a bit evocative of Malibu Lumber Yard). And along the side of the new shopping destination dubbed "Pacific City" (probably because it's literally a city within a city), was the all too familiar neon red sign for H&M. H&M deserves my praise for their smart expansion into the most exciting locations that offer a whole new experience for the modern shopper. The 14,000 sq.ft. store will carry mens and womens, in addition to a new department, H&M Beauty (which I haven't seen anywhere else!). H&M at Pacific City will officially open on Saturday, November 7th at 12PM and if you've been to an H&M opening before or you've read my recaps, you know it'll be one huge celebration.

To celebrate the new store, H&M will offer the first 200 shoppers in line a t-shirt and gift card valued between $20 and $300. Customers who bring in clothes for recycling will also receive a gift card from $50 to $250 and a goodie bag filled with H&M Beauty. There's double chances to get swagged out! Like always, I highly suggest getting there early in line; it'll be a beautiful morning to spend by the beach, so you can make a great day out of it! More information can be found on the opening day event on H&M's Facebook page. I hope to see your lovely faces bright and early at H&M Pacific City!

With their ever-increasing store expansions across California and the U.S., there's plenty of opportunity to bring your talent to H&M. More information on careers can be found here.
