A Quest For Beauty

What could be a better night for a girl than one entirely comprised of palatable French fare and brilliant French jewelry masterpieces?

Absolutely nothing, which is why a date to the Bowers Museum is a must and worth the trip to Orange County. Van Cleef & Arpels partnered with the Bowers Museum for their large exhibit A Quest for Beauty: The Art of Van Cleef & Arpels, in which they showcase over 200 pieces from Van Cleef's private collections that span over 100 years. It's an incredible journey through time, culture, and luxuriance; I viewed many rare pieces that were worn by grand icons such as Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco and Elizabeth Taylor. Oh you can only imagine how fabulous the jewels must be to adorn the necks of these remarkable women. I felt just a bit honored learning that Van Cleef & Arpels has a special relationship with Orange County - much so that they will be expanding and relaunching their boutique in South Coast Plaza with an exclusive collection of timepieces that I'm sure will blow me away. Their dreamy timepieces are so clever and masterful and they never cease to amaze (I know where my first CEO paycheck will go to).

Take a day trip here and start with a lunch at charming Tangata, the Bowers Museum native restaurant with fresh and tasty French-inspired offerings. Then be prepared to end up breathless by Van Cleef & Arpels. Their exhibit ends February 15th, so make it a fun and unique Valentine's Day date!
