The Cool Sun

How to adventurously embrace the cold.

Sure, it's cold outside. Staying at home is an easy escape from the biting 55ยบ cold (I see you shivering LA) and a sunny Saturday isn't what is used to be. I know just how good it sounds when winter brings on all the cozy snuggles under thick throws with a mulled wine in hand, but it's no excuse to hibernate all season. There are plenty of ways to enjoy the things we loved most when the sun was shining bright. Shorter days cast a different light to familiar places and the sentimental change in the season re-imagines new experiences. Switch out the iced teas for a hot almond latte and sit outside on Larchmont as dogs in the cutest sweaters trot by. The beach will always be a blissful - and now more quiet - place to spend an afternoon picnic, while cuddling even closer to the boo under a wool blanket. You'll start seeing holiday decorations popping up in our favorite neighborhoods and a stroll with family or friends will leave you inspired with design ideas for your moodboard and more coins in your warm-and-fuzzy bank. It only takes a little willpower to get over the cold and get out there and have some fun!

Although the sun doesn't seem as heavy, its harmful UV rays are just as strong no matter the season, so I make it an essential habit to wear sunscreen when going outdoors even just for a hot latte. Before leaving the house everyday, I use Soleil Toujours' natural Mineral Based Sunscreen Continuous Mist in SPF30 all over my body, concentrating on my shoulders, arms, and legs.  Soleil Toujours has such chic packaging that makes it easy to carry it in my bag to reapply during a long day out. Especially with the dry winter air, I smooth on Soleil Toujours' Apres Soleil Exotic Shimmer Body Oil on top of the sunscreen for instant skin softening and a lovely radiant glow. This luxurious dry oil is packed with miracle, antioxidant ingredients like rosehip oil, argan oil, and green tea extract and has the slightest shimmer for that lustrous, natural look. On my face, I use their Daily Moisturizer SPF20 that I highly recommend for those with oily, acne-prone skin. It's the only facial sunscreen I've tried in so many years that has managed to control my oily t-zone, while its anti-aging and antioxidant formula keeps my skin smooth and glowing. Soleil Toujours is really the one-stop shop in all things sun protection, so you can effortlessly embrace the winter sun safely.

    1. Hi Maggie!

We know forgetting to wear sunscreen is easy to do in the colder months. A moisturizer with SPF (like ours in this post) is a great way to combat that issue! Xo.
