Dropping in on this unique and secret landscape in the middle of corporate territory is no accidental digression as fate would have it. Upon discovering this dramatic sculpture garden, I realized after a quick read that I stood in the famed Noguchi Gardens that Tommy and I have been yearning to find.

It was after I had finished a quick bite and a drink in nearby Mastro's that I had gotten lost finding my way back to my car. Little did I know I really wasn't lost, but I was heading towards a destination that would steal my breath. Fragments of the sculpture garden peeked around the corners of the narrow path between two deep blue, mirrored high rises and as the plaza unfolded in its entirety, my eyes darted between the magnificent redwood meadow to the right and the perfect dome-shaped cactus garden to my left. Famed Japanese-American artist Isamu Noguchi designed this organic landscape as an abstract vision of the California terrain, which accounts for the theatrical representations of California's redwoods, desert, and natural water sources. The vast number of visual elements in the plaza, from the entrancing low-lying pyramid to the stark sky-high buildings create such a surreal and dynamic expression in which you easily lose yourself and the concept of time. The moment of being there dressed in my all white uniform from Joe's Jeans felt so right and in tune with the surroundings I found myself in. And I believe everything came together as it should have this day.

  2. Just looked up the garden, it looks so tranquil & relaxing! The white outfit does look like it was made for wearing in that place at that time.
