Mon Amour Engagement Session

Our sun-soaked engagement session inspired by the enchantment of the French countryside.

photos by Sally Pinera.

Kyle and I are counting down 5 days to being officially married!

Our 11-month engagement has flown by a little too quickly for us, so when they say savor your engagement, DO THAT. It's a beautiful chapter that divulges the blessings you have in family, friendships, and of course, together as partners for life.

We've been designing our wedding for the last 8 months with our rockstar full-service planner Nancy Park, who's the sweetest, most genuine being with years of outstanding experience. We wanted to consider a professional who was not only talented but also authentically gracious - someone who will become a dependable friend during this special moment - and Nancy is just that. If you or someone you know is looking for a wedding planner, I greatly recommend Nancy Park (So Happi Together)

For our engagement photo session back in August, Nancy introduced us to fine art film photographer Sally Pinera. Her dreamy aesthetic was everything we were looking for to create a thoughtful story in every photo. We roadtripped up to the hills of Santa Ynez, that transport you to the French countryside during the most perfect golden hour, and captured our moments together in the beauty of nature with Sally. I wore a Cortana two-piece silk dress, found at LOHO Bride - a beautifully-curated boutique where I also bought my wedding dress. The wrap-around skirt has a bias cut that created some romantic drapes and billows in the wind. While the designer created this dress as a part of their bridal collection, it's one of those looks that I needed to have in my everyday closet! I topped the look off with a delicate straw hat I procured from Venice, Italy to complement the pastoral vibe. Our engagement photos and story was also featured on Style Me Pretty recently, so check out their post for even more shots from our engagement!

I'm excited to announce that all this week I'll be posting a Honey & Silk Bridal Series called "Honey&Wed", that will live as a new column on the site for thoughtful brides who muse over delicate textures, poetic vignettes, and authentic romance in every moment. I can't wait to share with you my next post, so come back tomorrow!
