Candidly Nicole

The time I took a selfie with Nicole Richie.

Just this last Monday, I along with a talented group of bloggers and editors dined with the gorgeous and ultra-funny style icon Nicole Richie in celebration of her new VH1 reality show, Candidly Nicole.

It was a beautiful affair at Soho House West Hollywood, complete with new and old friends, delish rosé, and a cardboard cutout of Nicole taking a belfie. Prior to the evening, we were able to catch a special press preview of the very first episode of the series, which aired last night on VH1! Did you catch it? If you didn't, tune in for reruns because Nicole lights up your screen as your cool and candid best friend. And although I'm not sure if I should've been surprised or not, but Nicole is just as unfiltered and awesome in person. I mean, during dinner she goes “I was a little nervous about tonight. When you’re told you have to have a dinner with a group of bloggers, you expect a bunch of ugly people sitting behind computers all day. But you guys are cute!” Why thank you, thank you (but to her credit, we do have to get outside at least once a day for a tan and piece of sanity).

Candidly Nicole is an unscripted reality show that was organically born from her twitter feed and it details her daily adventures while providing insight into her views on everything from style to relationships to parallel parking. In the first episode, she catfished someone. And almost hit her Dad Lionel with her car. And isn't this what we do in everyday life? Like I said, her show is like listening to your best friend's problems and musings.

And just for you guys, here is a VH1 Exclusive sneak peek of next week's episode: Candidly NicoleNicole Gets Tipsy
Nicole does a little wine tasting in the grocery store while shopping with her sister Sofia.

VH1’s Candidly Nicole airs Thursday nights at 10PM ET/PT on VH1.

  3. You're so lucky to have been invited to the event. I love the statement that Nicole made "When you’re told you have to have a dinner with a group of bloggers, you expect a bunch of ugly people sitting behind computers all day. But you guys are cute!”
