Taking Care of Your Scalp with Rooted Rituals

When we think about skincare, we instantly think about our face and everything we need for our conscientious routine. It was only recently I had the epiphany that my skin all over deserves the same effort and love I put towards my facial skin. I actually suffer from mild scalp psoriasis and I think that postpartum hormones and seasonal dryness have caused more irritation lately. This condition is something I’ve managed since I was 7 years old, and unfortunately, I’ve never given my scalp the attention and treatment it’s always needed. Now, I am shifting my skincare focus to finding a scalp-specific routine that will help restore health and hydration to the skin on the top of my head. In fact, a clean, healthy scalp becomes the foundation for hair to grow beautiful and strong.

The Scalp Care Regimen
It’s important to cleanse your scalp well to remove oil and grime that can build up from products and pollution. I start my cleanse with the Quick Rinse Scalp Scrub - I massage the formula, which has gentle micro-exfoliators, all over my scalp at the roots and this helps to exfoliate and detoxify my skin. I then follow up with shampoo and conditioner. After I wash out the shampoo, my hair feels squeaky clean and a clean scalp is primed to soak in nutrients and moisture from conditioner and serums.

My last step after rinsing out conditioner is applying and leaving in the Cooling & Strengthening Tonic and massaging my scalp with the Root Rejuvenating Scalp Massager. This tonic delivers Ginger Root and Vitamin E to the hair and skin and helps to strengthen strands and restore your scalp’s natural moisture barrier. It’s important to apply any products for the scalp by separating your hair in sections and directly applying the product with the applicator in each section. Spending a minute or two massaging your scalp promotes blood circulation and rejuvenates hair growth.
